Islam: The Cycle Continues

Recent events continue to highlight the persistent threat of jihad in Europe. In Germany, an Afghan migrant drove his car into a crowded street in Munich, injuring 28 people, including a 2-year-old girl and her mother who tragically died from their injuries [1]. Munich police reported 'indications of an extremist motive,' prompting prosecutors to launch an investigation. The European Jewish Congress expressed deep shock at the attack.[2].

Perhaps they don’t know about the two Australian nurses who boldly published a video telling a Jewish man that if he were in their hospital, they would kill him [3]. They “openly brag about killing Jewish patients.”

No one should be shocked. Is it extreme for a Christian to practice faith, hope, and charity (love)? These are the basic tenets of Christianity. Buddhism emphasizes nonviolence, harmony, and self-regulation. Hindu ethics include truth, non-violence, and compassion. Practicing these principles is not labeled ‘extreme.’

So why is a jihadi called ‘extreme’? He is simply exercising normative Islamic doctrine. The highest deed in Islam is jihad. Wherever Islam spreads, its values follow — it cannot be changed. The West claims to ‘embrace’ diversity while ignoring that some ideologies within this diversity seek to dominate, not integrate. What do the authorities expect? It’s like throwing an alligator in with puppies and kittens and expecting them to get along.

Koran 2:216 ‘Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.’

What else can you call it but willful blindness when Canada has already approved 5,000 applications from Gaza [4]? A place where residents are taught from birth to hate and fight against Jews, where the greatest heroes are ‘martyrs’ for Islam [5]. There are very few Jews left in Islamic countries — wouldn’t that be a more appropriate place to take them in? Why aren’t they?

This is about doctrine, not individuals. There are good and bad people everywhere — lapsed Christians do not practice faith, hope, and charity, just as many Muslims do not actively participate in jihad. But the fact remains: 80–90% of designated terrorist groups in Western countries are Islamic [6]. They are partially funded through zakat, the Islamic tax that designates jihad as a legitimate category of expenditure, to which virtually all individual Muslims and Islamic businesses knowingly contribute (Koran 9:60).

Koran 4:95 — Not equal are those believers remaining [at home] — other than the disabled — and the mujahideen, [who strive and fight] in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred the mujahideen through their wealth and their lives over those who remain [behind], by degrees. And to both Allah has promised the best [reward]. But Allah has preferred the mujahideen over those who remain [behind] with a great reward.

Normative Islam mandates that peace is impossible until Islam reigns supreme, just as Mohammed taught — through jihad.

Tirmidhi 2863 — “And I command you with five that Allah commanded me: Listening and obeying, Jihad, Hijrah [migration], and the Jama’ah.”

Perhaps authorities believe that because no formal war has been declared, everyone should simply coexist. But Islam mandates ongoing jihad as an act of faith:

Koran 9:14 — “Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people.”
Koran 8:17 — “And you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allah who threw…”

One of the fundamental weaknesses of the West is its failure to recognize war unless it is formally declared by a nation-state. Western governments remain blind to the reality that Islam does not operate within this framework. Islamic doctrine mandates perpetual jihad, irrespective of national borders, as its goal is global supremacy. Unlike conventional warfare, where nations engage in conflicts based on territory or political disputes, Islam's war is ideological and ‘religious’, with no need for a formal declaration. The absence of an official war proclamation does not mean a war is not being waged—Islamic doctrine itself is the declaration, and its adherents are commanded to engage in jihad until the entire world is brought under Islamic rule (Koran 8:39, 9:33).

In Islamic doctrine, non-Muslims are never ‘innocent’ because they are guilty of disbelief. When you see the streets filled with mass Islamic prayers or protests, that is already more than an assertion of dominance.

Consider Koran 5:33:

“Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.”
Ibn Kathir’s commentary on Koran 5:33 clarifies that ‘waging war’ in this context includes disbelief, blocking roads, and spreading fear — exactly what is happening now in non-Islamic countries. By Islam’s own definition, both obstructing roads and carrying out random acts of jihad that instill fear constitute waging war [7].

Treaties in Islam are never meant to be permanent. For example, on more than one occasion, PLO leader Yasar Arafat has recalled Mohammed’s breaking of the treaty with the Quraish — the tribe of his family in Mecca — as justification for signing a treaty. “I see this agreement as being no more than the agreement signed between our Prophet Muhammad and the Quraish in Mecca.”

Koran 8:58 — “And if you fear treachery from a people, then break the treaty with them openly. Indeed, Allah does not like traitors.”
Koran 9:5 (The Sword Verse) — “Then when the sacred months have passed, kill the polytheists wherever you find them…”

As you read — it is only necessary to ‘fear’ treachery — just as with Koran 4:34 you may beat your wife if you ‘fear’ rebellion [aka desertion, ill-conduct, disloyalty, arrogance, disobedience etc.] Fear alone is sufficient justification whether real, imagined or simply convenient [8].

Ibn Kathir explains that treaties are honoured only until their expiration date, and if no specific term is set, they last a maximum of four months. Permanent peace agreements are not possible. The doctrine of jihad mandates that treaties serve only as temporary truces until Islam is strong enough to resume conquest.

Ibn Kathir on Koran 9:4: “Allah orders the believers to fulfill their peace treaties with the polytheists who remained true to their treaties, as long as their terms did not exceed four months. However, after the four months end, there remains no covenant between Muslims and idolaters.”

Islamic law (Reliance of the Traveller, o9:16) reinforces that truces can only last a maximum of ten years. Mohammed broke treaties when it suited him, marching on Mecca with 10,000 men just two years after agreeing to a ten-year peace [9].

Final Analysis & Conclusion

Islamic doctrine does not allow for lasting peace with non-Muslims — only temporary truces until Islam gains the upper hand. Koran 8:58 permits breaking treaties if Muslims suspect treachery, while Koran 9:4 limits treaties to a maximum of four months if no duration is specified. Koran 9:5 commands fighting once treaties expire, and Ibn Kathir’s tafsir confirms that Islamic treaties are never meant to be permanent. Islamic law (Reliance of the Traveller) states that truces may last up to ten years but are only permitted when necessary. Mohammed himself broke treaties when he deemed it advantageous. The West’s refusal to acknowledge this reality is why jihad continues unabated. Treating jihadis as ‘extremists’ is a grave misunderstanding — jihad is a core tenet of Islam, not an aberration.

Koran 47:35 — So do not weaken and call for peace while you are superior; and Allah is with you and will never deprive you of [the reward of] your deeds.
