Shooting the Messenger Doesn’t Change the Message

So Sheikh Kathrada has made the news again. (1) This time it’s for his sermons against Jews but at Christmas and Easter Christians top the bill. (2) During the rest of the year any unbeliever will do.

This week Rebel News included clips from a couple of Kathrada’s sermons in their video addressing the abuse that the Jewish community in Victoria, B.C. have suffered since last October. A Jewish community that was established over 160 years ago.

The tragedy in silencing Kathrada is that by addressing the person, rather than the doctrine, the truth matters not. Sheikh Kathrada’s Victoria Muslim Youth Group YouTube channel has over 500 videos and almost 2,000 followers for a reason. (3)

It’s not that what Kathrada is saying about the ‘unbelievers’ is false, you can compare the statements in his sermon to the Islamic doctrine and decide for yourself below. In Kathrada’s case though, enough of it is said in English and regularly broadcast on YouTube that non-Muslims can also share this information and readily understand some of it. What is said in Arabic, is only exposed on the rare occasion when an organization such as MEMRI TV provides a translation.

It does seem reasonable to ask why organizations such as Kathrada’s that promote Sharia (offering ISLAMIC OR LEGAL marriages) are given charity status and provided with government grants in Canada. (4)(5) Sharia does not recognize equality before the law or freedom of religion and is therefore contrary to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. (6)

The EU Parliamentary Assembly reports that sharia clearly discriminates against women:

“8. The Assembly is also concerned about the “judicial” activities of “Sharia councils” in the United Kingdom. Although they are not considered part of the British legal system, Sharia councils attempt to provide a form of alternative dispute resolution, whereby members of the Muslim community, sometimes voluntarily, often under considerable social pressure, accept their religious jurisdiction mainly in marital issues and Islamic divorce proceedings but also in matters relating to inheritance and Islamic commercial contracts. The Assembly is concerned that the rulings of the Sharia councils clearly discriminate against women in divorce and inheritance cases. The Assembly is aware that informal Islamic courts may also exist in other Council of Europe member States.” (7)

0:04 ‘Non-Muslims are the enemy of Allah, therefore they are your enemies’

KORAN 8:59 And let not those who disbelieve think they will escape. Indeed, they will not cause failure [to Allah ].
KORAN 8:60 “Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.

1:11 ‘You think that they are your friends? No, they’re the enemies of Allah.’

KORAN 3:28 Believers should not take unbelievers as friends in preference to other believers. Those who do this will have none of Allah’s protection and will only have themselves as guards. Allah warns you to fear Him for all will return to Him.

1:22 ‘Friends, I want our children to understand this, the non-Muslims are the enemies of Allah — therefore they are your enemies. Some of them don’t even believe Allah exists. You want somebody like that to be a close friend of yours?’ Enough is enough.’

KORAN 3:118 Believers! Do not become friends with anyone except your own people. The unbelievers will not rest until they have corrupted you. They wish nothing but your ruin. Their hatred of you is made clear by their words, but even greater hatred is hidden within their hearts. We have made Our signs clear to you. Therefore, do your best to comprehend them.

KORAN 5:60 Say (O Muhammad to the people of the Scripture): “Shall I inform you of something worse than that, regarding the recompense from Allah: those (Jews) who incurred the Curse of Allah and His Wrath, those of whom (some) He transformed into monkeys and swines, those who worshipped Taghut (false deities); such are worse in rank (on the Day of Resurrection in the Hell-fire), and far more astray from the Right Path (in the life of this world).”

3:42 ‘Zionists are occupiers, they are the aggressors, they came to a land that doesn’t belong to them’

KORAN 60:1 O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists, etc.) as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, this Quran, and Muhammad), and have driven out the Messenger (Muhammad) and yourselves (from your homeland) because you believe in Allah your Lord! If you have come forth to strive in My Cause and to seek My Good Pleasure, (then take not these disbelievers and polytheists, etc., as your friends). You show friendship to them in secret, while I am All-Aware of what you conceal and what you reveal. And whosoever of you (Muslims) does that, then indeed he has gone (far) astray, (away) from the Straight Path.

4:13 ‘Oh Allah, bring annihilation upon the plundering and criminal Jews.. show us the black day that you inflict upon them, make their plots backfire on them. Oh Allah shake the ground under their feet.’

KORAN 3:54 And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers

KORAN 4:37 Those who are miserly and enjoin miserliness on other men and hide what Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounties. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a disgraceful torment.

Some people like to imagine that Islamic doctrine can be reformed — they may even declare ‘that’s not my Islam’ but would never dare to say this out loud in an Islamic state. There is now good reason to hesitate even in Canada. (8)

After Mohammed’s Migration to Medina, marking the beginning of the Islamic calendar in 622 CE, fully 17% of the Koran and 9% of the Hadith contain anti-Jew text. (9) Within five years all the Jews in Medina had either been exiled or killed. (10)

It is folly to think that in 14 centuries there have not been others who wanted Islam to be something that it is not. They may be useful for a time, just like the poorly informed (11) Gays for Gaza (so long as they stay on their own side of the street). (12) But abandoned, at best, when the rally is over. (13)
